Protecting Your Family in Dangerous Times

During these dangerous and uncertain times, it’s easy to find ourselves feeling afraid. And there is nothing the enemy enjoys more than seeing God’s people live in fear. But we do not need to be afraid! God knows what lies ahead in these last days, and He has everything we need to see us through to victory over the enemy.
The LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
(Prov. 2:6-8)
As a mother, you know only too well that overriding desire to protect your children from harm. You deal with it every time you send your children out the door to school or watch your teenagers drive off with their friends.

What can you do as a mother to ensure that your children are protected every moment of the day?

I began seeking the Lord about this after my cousin Nikki was killed in a car accident involving a drunk driver. Nikki was Miss "On Fire for God," one of the most phenomenal people I have ever known. Nikki's death was a huge wake-up call for me.

I prayed, "Lord, I want You to show me how we let this happen. What do we need to do to make sure it never happens again?"

God immediately began to answer that prayer. He taught me four primary things we must do to ensure the protection of those we love:
Plead the blood of Jesus

Take advantage of angelic protection

Listen to our spirits

Discipline our children
Developing rock-solid confidence in these principles is the goal you should be aiming for as a believer, and as you do, your faith will grow and you can know that your children—as well as all whom you love—are safe.

Make Your Day Count
Gather your children around you today. Plead the blood of Jesus over them, and send forth their angels to protect them. Ask God to teach you to hear His voice, to make you aware of danger.

Remind your children as you discipline them that the Bible promises long life to those who will honor and obey their parents.
